6. Echinacea is another healthful tea used to fight colds, flu & infection. Research has shown Echinacea does boost the immune system, & it is effective against upper respiratory infections, although some people are allergic to it. Echinacea should not be taken by people who are going to be anesthetized or who are taking immunosuppressant or hepatotoxic drugs for auto-immune or connective tissue disorders.

Many people are sensitive to the seed's outer coating & the uncooked seeds may cause seizures or death.
12. Ginseng claims it will make you smarter & faster, lower your blood pressure, cure your erectile dysfunction & hepatitis C & eliminate your menopause symptoms. Research has shown ginseng reduces blood glucose levels & boosts immunity, but it may cause breast pain & should not be used by diabetics, especially when taking fenugreek or bitter melon. The ginseng root is used in the Chinese soup, samgyetang.
