If the Great Outdoors (beach! mountains! parks! backyards!) is looking way better than that basement treadmill or the stinky weight room at the gym, ditch the same old routine. Obey your instincts and head outside for some fun physical activity that doesn't remotely feel like exercise but has the same benefits. Fun stuff that makes you go "woo-hoo!" can boost fitness and burn as many or even more calories than your usual workout routine. Try these:
Hooping is a fun & inexpensive way to exercise! 1. Spin a Hula-Hoop. Rocking a Hula-Hoop burns 210 calories in 30 minutes and boosts your heart rate as much as a brisk walk. Like any good cardio exercise, it helps lower blood sugar and LDL (bad) cholesterol. Get a Hula-Hoop for yourself, one for each of your kids and grandkids, and "hoop it up" together!

Spices That Can Help You Lose Weight

The results: The exposure to piperine interfere with the formation of new fat cells. It also reduced lipid storage in the cells—which is good for revealing those abs, since the lack of lipids prevents these cells from being stored as fat.

Researchers noted that previous animal studies found black pepper to be effective at reducing triglyceride accumulation in the liver, which helps decrease your risk for liver disease, & reducing levels of glucose in the blood, which plays a role in preventing diabetes.

To reap the biggest benefits of piperine, buy black peppercorns & grind them yourself. According to additional research published in the Journal of Agricultural & Food Chemistry, whole black peppercorns pack the largest amount of piperine per serving compared to other forms of the spice.

1. Cinnamon
Acording to a study published in Diabetes Care, as little as one teaspoon of cinnamon per day can boost the body's weight-loss ability by reducing blood sugar & promoting healthier processing of carbohydrates. It also lowers LDL cholesterol, bad cholesterol, by seven to 27% & total cholesterol by 12 to 26%. Plus, cinnamon has been shown to prevent the metabolic syndrome commonly seen in pre-diabetics. But before you go crazy using cinnamon, note that cinnamon contains a chemical called coumarin, which can lead to liver damage if consumed in very large amounts.
2. Cayenne
The main ingredient in cayenne is capsaicin, which is, also, found in other hot peppers & has long been studied for its fat-burning abilities as well as thermogenic properties, the stimulating of the central nervous system to produce heat in the body, leading to an increase in calorie burning. In fact, Nicholas Perricone, M.D., cites several of these studies in his wildly popular The Perricone Weight-Loss Diet and concludes that capsaicin acts as an appetite suppressant. Many think that cayenne pepper promotes weight loss because it's simply difficult to overindulge in spicy food. However, later studies performed by the Journal of Obesity, also, found that the spice increases fat oxidation, "ramps up energy expenditure, & stimulates activity by the sympathetic nervous system", which help the body to shed excess weight. Research has found that cayenne's ability to reduce appetite is equally effective whether ingested as food or in capsule form.
3. Black Pepper
Among the health benefits of this common household ingredient is its ability to improve digestion & promote the absorption of nutrients in tissues all over the body. Plus, its main component-piperine boosts fat metabolism by as much as 8% for several hours after ingesting it. If you want your pepper to pack the most punch, use freshly ground pepper, which has the most concentrated amounts of piperine.
4. Mustard Seed

Niacin, also known as Vitamin B3, is found in animal foods like red meat, liver & fish. It is, also, found in some plant foods like beans, carrots & leafy green vegetables. Niacin helps protect against cardiovascular disease as well as supports cognitive function, the nervous system & the digestive tract. Therefore, it is important to get enough niacin into your every day diet.

What Niacin Does For Your Body

Niacin is one of the most important nutrients in your diet, & it's water soluble, which means that your body excretes excess niacin in your urine, rather than storing it. Therefore, you need to eat a steady supply of niacin each day to ensure that you don't suffer from niacin deficiency.

Niacin protects your heart by lowering blood levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol, as well as preventing the accumulation of arterial plaque. Your digestive system, nervous system & brain need niacin to function. Niacin helps your body make new DNA & helps your body use insulin efficiently to control blood sugar levels. Your body, also, needs niacin to process fats.

Eat salmon & tuna only two or three times per week to avoid the ill effects of mercury & the other pollutants often found in fish.

Vegetables that have a high niacin content include crimini mushrooms, which should be eaten raw for the maximum nutritional benefit. Green leafy vegetables are high in niacin, as are tomatoes & asparagus. Coffee also contains high levels of niacin.
